As much as I love football, I have to give futbol some credit. The fans in the stands know how to make the game an experience to remember with things like the infamous "Ole!" chant and other songs. I have never seen a football stadium full of fans come close to such a display (other than the one in Germany last weekend).
If fans bet on the winning team, I bet the chants get even louder!
I will not try to pretend to know what I am talking about when it comes to the World Cup; soccer has never been my thing. But we have plenty of writers who know their stuff and have produced some great content to help you make your betting decisions as the FIFA World Cup gets underway. More on that in a moment…

If you prefer to bet on football over futbol, no worries — we've got you covered there, too. Things are getting interesting in the NFL and college football seasons. Another PGA Tour tournament is underway (do those guys ever stop?), and we have college basketball, the NHL, and 2024 Presidential election odds to discuss as well.
Our writers have covered those topics and more this week. So let's talk about sports betting!
2022 FIFA World Cup
As I mentioned in my intro, I don't know soccer. I will not try to give you any betting advice on the World Cup. Both are excellent questions, and it should be a heck of a game — for fans and bettors:

No, I Didn't Forget About College Football
There is always Saturday's college gridiron action if you don't want to wait until Sunday to bet on football. We don't have a top-10 matchup this week, but there are plenty of trap games that could cause one of the top teams in the country to slip up if they aren't careful (Michigan vs. Illinois, Georgia vs. Kentucky, TCU vs. Baylor, etc.).
Check out some of the great college football content our team produced this week:

Fun With Futures: Parlays
Betting on futures means rolling the dice on a longshot or risking money on the favorite just to win a little. That certainly doesn't sound like fun. But there is a way to make it fun — parlays.
Parlays involve combining multiple single bets into one larger bet. The more legs you have, the more you stand to win. But with each additional leg, your chances of losing also increase. So, proceed with caution if you decide to bet on a parlay or two. Don't risk too much of your bankroll.
It is more common to create parlays out of prop bets, point spreads, totals, and moneylines. However, you can also make a parlay out of futures. But you'll have to resort to trial and error to see what your favorite sportsbook will allow. For example…
Let's say you want to bet on college football conference winners, but you don't like the idea of betting on Clemson to win the ACC at -240 (via FanDuel) or Ohio State to win the Big Ten at -310. Combine the two into a parlay, and the odds are -115. Add TCU winning the Big 12 (-160), and they go up to +204.
FanDuel has futures odds listed for nine conferences. Combine the betting favorites into a nine-leg parlay, and the odds will be +6089 (as of Thursday afternoon). A $5 bet will win $304.50.
Now, I am not expecting to win. I probably will not, as there will likely be at least one upset. But until that upset happens, I will have a lot of fun watching those games.
