Last week came and went with Rory Mcllroy winning the Wells Fargo Championship. Rory was the favorite to win it and cashed bettors that backed him. Chalky favorites are rarely the best bets to make in golf so keep that in mind.
PSA TO ALL NFL BETTORS: Week 1 NFL odds were released this week and everyone is excited blah, blah, blah. There are no circumstances where you should be betting on any week 1 NFL games right now. Even if you think you have an edge and expect the line to move — you are tying up your money for five months and the potential edge is negligible. If you do bet it, you will be shamed for all of eternity. Just kidding… but seriously don’t do it. Instead, use our NFL Week 1 Odds post to track changes as the season approaches.
Here’s what you actually should bet on: UFC 262. Lines were just released for most sportsbooks and there are some spots that could change as Saturday draws near. I already have a bunch of bets logged with several sportsbooks as I hunt for the best odds. I am very excited for this weekend’s fight card and the full analysis of every main card fight is here.
Below, in order are my best bets from the level of confidence I have in each one. I personally bet each one as I think all three of these have a very good hit percentage. I am up over 100 units on UFC alone this year.
UFC 262 Best Bets To Make Immediately

Beneil Dariush via Points or KO/TKO - 114 (PointsBet Sportsbook)
FanDuel has this line at -135, which is where I think the line will end up. -114 essentially makes this fight a pick’em. Tony Ferguson is known for his jiu-jitsu skills, but he has not won a round in his last eight rounds. This is an easy fade. Tony Ferguson looks done.
Matt Schnell via Decision +200 (BetMGM Sportsbook)
I was off this prop when it opened at +130. That was completely ridiculous. Thankfully we got better lines at BetMGM and PointsBet. Schnell has not even been knocked down in four fights. Bontarin is bad at defending strikes and bad at landing strikes. He may have an advantage with submission grappling but good luck getting Schnell to the ground (53% takedown defense per UFCStats).
Michael Chandler +116 (FanDuel Sportsbook)
Charles Oliveira has never faced an opponent as good as Michael Chandler. Chandler is an excellent wrestler which should negate Oliveira’s jiu-jitsu prowess. Moreover, Oliveira looked dominant but slowed in round three against Ferguson — who I think is cooked. Chandler should be favored here, we have seen Oliveira quit inside the octagon in the past — not exactly the championship mentality.
SPAC To The Future: WynnBET Going Public
A very interesting and kind of weird story went live this week. Wynn Resorts is already a public company under the NYSE ticker WYNN. They own and operate WynnBET, the new sports betting platform. Now, WynnBET is going public via special purpose acquisition company Austerlitz Acquisition Corporation.

Use These Sportsbook Promotions To Dominate UFC 262
FanDuel Sportsbook is insuring your UFC parlay up to $25. The parlay must be three legs or more. But if you were to parlay the above UFC picks, you would get +915 on FanDuel. If one pick loses, you will get the bet back in free bets.
DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a 26% UFC parlay boost of two legs or more. Each leg must be -200 or longer odds. Now, a parlay of Dariush by KO or Points and any other bet (picks above) is a phenomenal opportunity. Opt-in is required but this is fantastic for UFC bettors. I highly recommend this promotion. Max bet is $50.
Updates Big And Small Out Of Louisiana And Maryland
My god, Louisiana is about to make big money. The state’s sports betting bill is about to hit the final stages in the senate. Just to get a license, operators will need to pay a $250,000 application fee and a $500,000 licensing fee that must be renewed every 5 years. Huge money coming to Louisiana. More info here from Rebecca Hanchett.
Louisiana’s fees are so high that it will not allow smaller companies to apply for licenses. Maryland has an entirely different strategy. Rather than having a set cost, Maryland is setting different prices for different types of licenses.
Moreover, the renewal fees are 1% of the average sports betting revenue. Big companies won’t love that but small businesses are important! Licensing prices and more information here from Christopher Gerlacher!
