NFL Draft Picks + Great Opportunity for MLB Futures
Betting picks by sports bettors for sports bettors
Anyone else still hyperventilating? Yeesh, The Masters was a sweat. No other way to describe it! Our bets were Collin Morikawa Top-20 Finish +105 and winning tournament score of -10 or better. Morikawa finished tied for 18 and Hideki Matsuyama ended with exactly -10.
Thanks to the Golf Guru Bill Bowman for the assists (or birdies?), which led us to a 2-0 golf betting week!
Now we shift our attention to the NFL Draft, MLB betting odds, and wrapping up the NBA regular season as the playoffs draw near. One of the most exciting times for a sports fan is here!
Bet NFL Draft Props Now Before The Odds Shift!
The time is now to bet on the NFL Draft. The odds can be quite lucrative giving us big-money opportunities. However, once information starts dropping from reporters and the money starts pouring in, the odds shift very quickly.
Pick: Giants To Draft Devonta Smith +225
A lot of betting draft props is about who you trust for your information. I trust Peter Schrager from the NFL Network, Daniel Jeremiah from PFF, and of course Schefter and Rapoport when they have scoops.
Schrager has essentially said that the Giants have been an easy team to read in the draft, and they are infatuated with Devonta Smith. If you want to read more, Matt Lombardo on USA Today said that he expects the Giants to take the Heisman Trophy Winner.
Pick: Rashawn Slater First Offensive Lineman Taken +350
FanDuel Sportsbook has this prop at +270. Daniel Jeremiah has been all over the Bengals taking Slater over Sewell. For starters, the Bengals need an offensive lineman but not a tackle. Secondly, Sewell isn’t as highly thought of as we thought. This is very much a draw-a-line-in-the-sand type of bet. Slater can move around the line and Sewell cannot - he is only a left tackle.
If the Bengals don’t jump on Slater, things could get sketchy. I will assume that they took Ja’Marr Chase at 5. Worth noting, FOX Bet Sportsbook has Rashawn Slater to the Bengals at +1300. Huge value.
This Week’s Sports Betting Promotions
We talked about the NCAA bet refund promotion from PointsBet Sportsbook, which was awesome. Since then there have not been many promotions from the company. However, every weekend for the past several weekends they have done the refer a friend promotion.
Here is how it works: You must refer a friend using your unique link. Then, they have to deposit $50 and place a $20 cash bet. After that, each of you get $200 in free bets. I recommend jumping on this because I have gotten a lot of free bet opportunities. You will have your own specific emailed link from them so be on the lookout.
FanDuel Sportsbook is very parlay-heavy these days with their promotions. So I guess if you like to bet parlays they are a decent place to go. NBA and MLB same-game parlays of 4 or more legs are insured if only one leg loses. It’s an option if you lay the first three with favorites you are confident in plus one more bet.
DraftKings Sportsbook is doing some basic profit-boosting for their bets which is available almost every day. However, here is the big one. DraftKings is giving everyone 42% profit boost today for Jackie Robinson day! This expires today so make sure you opt-in.
MLB Futures: Last Call For Ronald Acuna NL MVP Bets + Jacob DeGrominance
How unbelievable has Ronald Acuna been? As I am writing this, Acuna just hit his second home run of the game. He has four RBIs in the game, and the game is now tied. Earlier in the week, I watched Acuna beat out a routine ground ball to shortstop. A play that I have not seen since Bo Jackson.
I did a max bet on Acuna to win the MVP at +800 on FOX Bet Sportsbook. Just a few days later he plummeted to +350. PointsBet still has Acuna at +600 as of right now. A number I still love. Undoubtedly this number will not be the same next week - take it while it’s hot. I told all of my Twitter followers to do the same last night…
Boxing: Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren - Back Paul By Decision +750
I am a huge fighting fan, I am a blue belt in jiu-jitsu, I have trained with high-level boxers and it’s a really fun sport for me. Any type of fight will interest me. However, many will say that this boxing match between Jake Paul and Ben Askren is a bad fight. I say nay to that! This Saturday’s Paul vs. Askren fight fascinates me because I think Paul is a legitimately talented striker.
Paul knocked out Nate Robinson who is a basketball player. I don’t think he can knock out Ben Askren. I do think that Ben Askren is a terrible boxer though. That is why I would absolutely love to bet Paul by decision at +750. I think it’ll be a close and probably controversial decision on Saturday night. FOX Bet Sportsbook has that, more odds will be available throughout the weekend.
Expansion Continues: Arizona Passes Sports Betting; Florida At A Stand-Off With The Seminole Tribe
Arizona pushed sports betting through with ease. The vote was passed by a supermajority vote 23-6-1 in the Arizona Senate. According to Rebecca Hanchett, sportsbooks are set for a late-summer launch in Arizona, in time for football season.
The Phoenix Suns wasted no time - agreeing to launch a retail sportsbook with FanDuel
The PGA Tour and DraftKings got in on the action as well.
Florida has been in total disarray when it comes to sports betting legalization. Gov. Desantis has been meeting behind closed doors apparently. That’s a wild way to try to do business - it sounds like the relationship with the Seminole Tribe is brutal.
Gaming Today’s Mary Shaffrey even stated that Buccaneers QB Tom Brady and former President Donald Trump are putting pressure on the state to legalize sports betting. What a mess. Florida needs some help here; this has been chaos for over a year now.
Boxing, UFC, MLB, NBA, NFL Draft, all in the span of 14 days - I can’t wait.
