NBA Playoffs, A Celebrity Golf Match, Plus AZ Sports Betting On The Move
Betting picks by sports bettors for sports bettors
Remember the saying, “the dog days of June and July” where sports got boring? Well, that is no more; sports could hardly be more exciting. The NBA playoffs are expected to end around July 22nd with the NHL playoffs also ending in July. And then - when that is all over - the NFL season will begin!
This is all to say, we have plenty of fun still to come. The NBA playoffs have been scintillating and the “Showtime Nets” face off against the Milwaukee Bucks starting on Saturday. I’m not betting on this series, but if you do, just bet the Nets to go all the way - no value in taking the Nets -180 over the Bucks.
Here’s our full Nets-Bucks breakdown.
NBA Weekend Preview And Best Bets
The Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks are getting started with their series this weekend. Every sportsbook has the 76ers as 4 point favorites this weekend. They would be much bigger favorites if they did not lose their best player, Joel Embiid.
Do You Fear Trae Young Yet? ‘Cause I Do
Pick: Hawks To Win Game 1 +145 BetMGM Sportsbook
Missing their best player and hoping he returns this series, the 76ers have a lot to figure out. The Hawks are a different team than the Wizards were, this is gonna be a culture shock for the 76ers and they don’t score as well as the Hawks do.
Jokic and Porter For The Win in 6?
Pick: Denver To Close Out Portland in 6 games +170 PointsBet Sportsbook
If A Herculean Performance From Damian Lillard isn’t enough, then what is? Lillard played a near-perfect game and they still lost and shouldn’t have even been that close. +170 is just ridiculous to get for this game. If Denver wins this game they also cash the series win for us!
I would assume that these picks split but the value is excellent for both games.
A Weekend Dose Of Golf
~ Who we gonna call? Not the Ghostbusters, but the one and only Bill Bowman! ~
The 2021 PGA Memorial Tournament Odds are out and look very interesting. Bill has a few bet recommendations including a +2500 bet and an even bigger longshot in Charley Hoffman at +5000.
Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers face off against Mickelson and Tom Brady on July 6, but we’ve already got your full preview. Mickelson and Brady are +130. DeChambeau and Rodgers -167 PointsBet Sportsbook is offering a promotion where you can bet either team at +100. However, Bill Bowman explains why he does not necessarily recommend a bet on the favorite.
This Week In Sportsbook Promotions: PointsBet Sportsbook Giving Away $10 For Free On UFC 263
PointsBet Sportsbook is giving all of their users a free $10. Israel Adesanya to land a punch is +100 (he is the best striker in the UFC and has never not landed a punch). The max bet is $10.01 but this is a free bet for us all to make a little bit of money.
BetMGM Sportsbook is hooking it up a bit as well. If you bet on any of the above games, and our team loses in OT, the bet is refunded up to $20. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me. Opt-in at the promotions page if needed.
Arizona Launch Targeted For September 9; California Dreamin’ Of Sports Betting?
Arizona sports bettors will soon have sports betting and are pushing it for football season. The expected launch date is going to be September 9th which - not so coincidentally - is the day that the NFL season begins. Cole Rush has more on this story.
Sportsbooks are chomping at the bit to launch in the Golden State. California will have sports betting on its ballot in 2022, which has an excellent opportunity to pass with the largest population in the United States. Rebecca Hanchett has more on this story and who is pushing this bill in California.
