NBA Playoff Odds, Travelers Championship, And Canada Sports Betting
Injuries are the story of the NBA playoffs. Brooklyn, previously the clear frontrunner, is out - much to my chagrin after I bet it at +600 and saw their odds go as low as -150 to win it all. Injuries ruined everything!
With that, I would say continue to bet underdogs throughout the remaining games. The Atlanta Hawks are up 1 on the Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals. As we covered in May, bettors were all in on the Hawks and are hankering for a series win. A DraftKings bettor wagered $20,000 on the Hawks to win the Finals late in the regular season; the bet would win $2.8 million!
Now that the season is coming to a close I would caution you to only make small bets on single-game underdogs. They should be profitable for the remainder of the NBA playoffs. The Hawks cashed game 1 at +245 so there are some opportunities. The NBA is as unpredictable as ever...
Clippers in 7? +1200 (PointsBet) Small Bets Only
I can’t take full credit for this, I stole it from the Bill Simmons Podcast. Bill is very sharp on his basketball takes and seemed to hint that he believes Kawhi Leonard will be back (he would know but I am skeptical). Chris Paul has been cleared to return for Phoenix so this is worth a small bet at the most. I rarely worry about the record, always worry about profit.

Bucks Rebound In Game 2?
The consensus would be to bet the Bucks in game 2 against the Hawks. They have the better team but betting lines are not in agreement. Gaming Today’s Bob Christ is on the Bucks by 15 or more and he very well could be correct. Why the line is 8 points is beyond me.
Pick: Live bet whoever is down at halftime.

Canada’s Ready For Sports Betting, Eh?
Canada wants in, and I don’t blame them. Sports betting companies are clamoring and expect to offer plenty of hockey betting opportunities. The bill has passed to allow single-event sports betting in Canada; it is only a matter of time before sportsbooks enter the market.
Bowman: The Travelers Championship Will Live Up To Its Name
Another week, another golf tourney. This time in Cromwell, CT. As our Golf aficionado Bill Bowman states, whopping 2,897 miles from last week’s location in San Diego. Check out Bowman’s full Travelers Championship Analysis and betting picks!
“We’ll start with Kevin Streelman at a generous +3000. He won here in 2014 and was solo second last year so there’s recent success as well as that victory.”
Kevin Streelman +3000
I just took a small bullet point of what Bowman believes to be an excellent betting opportunity. Streelman hasn’t been playing badly either, so he could make some noise this weekend.
Phil Mickelson +7000
The legend Phil Mickelson is 70:1 this weekend. He recently won a tournament defying the odds. 70:1 is just too high here.
Editors Choice: Why The Supreme Court Unanimously Ruled Against The NCAA
Everyone has seen the headline but not everyone knows why it happened. Well, Gaming Today’s Chris Gerlacher has the breakdown for why the NCAA lost to the Supreme Court. As each day passes, the future looks increasingly murky for the NCAA.
Sportsbooks Not Giving Many Promotions This Week
Every week, I scour the sports betting realm for the best promotions for (mostly) existing users. Being that most people that read this newsletter are existing users, I vow to find the best of the best, whether it is a referral promotion, booster odds, or risk-free bet opportunity. If it is offered I will notify you of it.
BetMGM Sportsbook: receive your bet back if your NBA team loses in overtime up to $20. BetMGM does require an opt-in for your NBA bet.
FanDuel Sportsbook is offering a same-game parlay risk-free up to $10. The parlay must be 3 legs or more and the max refund is $10. It’s a good option but this is the only solid option from FanDuel this week.
FanDuel And DraftKings Up The Ante In Florida
If the gaming compact fails in Florida, DraftKings and FanDuel have another solution. These companies are growing quickly and that means its influence and power grows by the day.
All of this means if the Florida Gaming Compact is denied by the U.S. Department shutdown the gaming compact between the Seminole Tribe and Governor, Floridians could vote in sports betting regardless. Mary M. Shaffrey breaks down a complicated but important story for the industry.
