Goosfraba!!! It's Only Been a Week ...
Sports betting news and information for bettors by bettors ...
So much to unpack from Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season. The Cowboys looked terrible with Dak, and now Dak's out. The Green Bay Packers were awful. The Rams did not look like a team that just won the Super Bowl. The Texans and Lions were competitive. The Giants won in Tennessee.
I could go on and on ...
What in the world is going on?!??!?

It's crazy ... a little maddening ... what's a sports bettor to think? Do we still have faith in Aaron Rodgers? Are the Bengals falling victim to the Super Bowl hangover? Are the Giants legit? Did San Francisco make a mistake by handing the offense over to Trey Lance?
It's okay. Calm down. Breathe in ... breathe out ... goosfraba ...
NFL Week 2
Based on what we saw in Week 1, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense will be fine without Tyreek Hill. They might be even better. Mahomes does not have to focus on getting Travis Kelce and Hill the ball; he's got options.
Of course, part of the reason the KC offense looked so good could have been the Cardinals defense. The Chargers defense will undoubtedly put up more of a fight during tonight's Thursday Night Football game.
But we have two of the best quarterbacks in the game facing off. There is a good chance they score a lot of points tonight.

College Football Week 3
It wasn't just a crazy Sunday for football bettors, the insanity started on Saturday. Did anyone really see Texas giving Alabama such a good fight? Or Alabama playing without discipline and making so many mental errors? I sure didn't.
Oh, and my Aggies. I don't know what to say about Texas A&M.
Appalachian State is a solid team. But I didn't see Texas A&M getting outcoached and outplayed in every facet of the game against the Mountaineers.
Poor Notre Dame. Losing to Ohio State was nothing to be ashamed about, but Marshall? Come on, Fighting Irish!
Alabama's national championship odds took a hit, but the Tide are still the betting favorite at several sportsbooks. But the odds for the teams at the top of betting boards got much closer.
As for the Heisman Trophy, Bryce Young is no longer the favorite. C.J. Stroud is, but that could change once the Buckeyes play a competitive opponent.
My college football parlay post will get posted to GamingToday.com tomorrow, but if you want the lowdown from our experts on a few specific games:

Beginner's Beat: Don't Overreact.
Week 1 of the NFL season was jam-packed with unexpected outcomes and performances. Betting on Aaron Rodgers is usually a good idea, but based on what we saw last week, not this year. Are the Texans competitive, or are the Colts simply not that good? Could the Giants and Seahawks compete this year? Did the Broncos make a mistake in acquiring Russell Wilson? Is it time to fade the Titans?
The list could go on and on, but I want to make this point: Do not overreact to what we saw in Week 1.
I'm not trying to say you should not be concerned about your team losing in Week 1; just don't write them off because of it. Nine of the 14 teams that made the playoffs last year lost their first game. Green Bay looked awful in Week 1 last year (38-3 loss to New Orleans) but then bounced back and won eight in a row.
It's not unusual to see good teams play poorly in Week 1. Since they often don't play their stars in the preseason, that game ends up being the one they work the kinks out in. For some, it may take a couple of weeks to get it together, but don't jump ship on the Packers, Colts, Titans, Rams, etc., just because they did not play well in Week 1.
Texas fans at the end of the Alabama game and when they realized this edition of the GTP was done:
That's it for this edition of the Gaming Today Playbook. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much or more as I enjoyed writing it. To close out the GTP this week, I'd like to share this clip. But let me warn you, it may cause you to see Russell Wilson in a whole new light:
No one will ever call him the King of Cool, that's for sure.
Bet wisely, my friends, and have a great weekend!
Until Next Week,
