GamingToday Playbook: UFC Fight Night | 2022 NBA Finals | Massachusetts Sports Betting
Betting picks by sports bettors for sports bettors.
Early returns on the MLB total data are phenomenal, runs have been scored at a much higher clip post-All-Star break. I’ll do a review of it at the end of the month to see where, exactly, we stand.
The NBA season is over and the Bucks are champs. Brooklyn had em’ in 5 if Kyrie didn’t get hurt, I’m still tilted on that beat.
In any event, we have plenty to cover this week. Notably, GamingToday’s gambling picks - this week taking a slight turn to UFC for a fight night.
Lastly, a big shoutout to GamingToday’s Chris Gerlacher and Rebecca Hanchett who put out some amazing content this week. Check it out at the bottom of the newsletter. Great stuff.
UFC Fight Night Betting Picks
This week I am putting out all of my UFC plays. This is a slight change to my normal 2 or 3 picks for a UFC card.
It is worth mentioning that I am still waiting on some method of victory props to really add up some value. Somehow, sportsbooks don’t have them out yet so I will say if there is a specific method of victory that I am targeting.
Mickey Gall +144
Not a big Jordan Williams fan and Gall is a legitimate submission grappler so he should be able to submit Jordan Williams. Gall hasn’t fought in a while so this is a huge fight for him to get on track.
Definitely value on Gall sub +500 but I absolutely want his decision prop as well. ML best value here at +144. I’ve also met Gall so I am more likely to bet him.
2-Way Parlay - Chaisson vs. Ladd go to decision -138 + Kyler Phillips -265 — +135
Two-way parlay and both of these could look easy. Kyler Phillips has no real holes in his game and women fights typically go to decision over 60% of the time.
Andre Ewell +164
5-inch reach advantage for Ewell. Arce has better grappling so that is fully recognized, this could end via submission. However, I’ll take Ewell’s striking to out-point Arce. Ewell has a very strong jab which makes me think he takes the win.
Ewell by decision is the play here when method of victory props are released for this fight.
Macy Chiasson +160 + by decision +260
Aspen Ladd coming off of an ACL surgery. Was down 2-0 to Kuniskaya before landing a 3rd round KO. Chaisson appears to be the better and stronger striker. I’ll take Macy by decision.
Live Bet TJ Dillashaw if he wins Round 1
If TJ wins round 1 I am going to hammer it. I’ll also go to PointsBet and bet TJ’s decision prop in between the first and second round. The decision prop is currently +550, I expect to pay a handsome fee to watch the first round but well worth it. TJ is in the most danger in round one.
Existing User Sportsbook Promotions
Each week I search the sports betting market for existing user sportsbook promotions. Sometimes they are awesome and other times they aren’t. Rest assured, you will not miss another “no brained bet” ever again.
FanDuel Sportsbook: We talked about this one last week but it is still going on this week and it’s awesome. Looking to bet on the Olympics? If you place $100 total in wagers on the Olympics, you are rewarded with a $1 bonus in site credit for each gold medal the USA wins. Very solid stuff from FanDuel, be sure to opt-in on their promotion page.
2022 NBA Finals Odds Preview
The Milwaukee Bucks are your 2021 NBA Champions. No disrespect, but the Nets had them on the ropes and were on their way to winning in 5. The Nets were the best team in the league this year and are the favorites next year.
I am not sure if my heart can take another Brooklyn Nets finals bet. However, sportsbooks are taking bets on the winner of the 2022 NBA finals.

The Great Debate: Massachusetts Sports Betting And NILs
Massachusetts has had an ongoing fiasco as they attempt to legalize sports betting. Overall, the process has been a disaster.
Currently, there are two competing bills in the house that could decide the fate of sports betting in Mass.
One of the bills would legalize sports betting but make it illegal to bet on college sports. This has resounding effects on potential NIL deals.
GamingToday’s Rebecca Hanchett has more on this story and what Massachusetts can expect to see in the coming weeks.
Editor’s Choice: How One Company Expects To Pull Gen Z Into Sports Betting
Sports betting is big business, we know that. Now a Toronto newspaper is opening an online sportsbook and casino in Ontario. The catch? They are also starting a media company to target younger users.
That story and much more from Chris Gerlacher.
