Gaming Today Playbook: UFC 269 | TNF Props | SBC Summit Recap
Betting picks and news by sports bettors for sports bettors.
The Gaming Today Playbook carries on after a 1-1 week for TNF player prop and just a terrible bad beat that saw Taysom Hill throw 4 interceptions and then hit a 77-yard touchdown on the Saints’ final offensive play to go over for passing yards.
However, Sunday was a bit better. We hit Rob Gronkowski to score 1 touchdown +135 and 2 touchdowns +900. We struggled just about everywhere else but the big hit puts us up 5.25 units on the week.
With that, I will be debuting a standalone touchdown prop article this weekend to tag along with the usual player prop picks article. I will update the full record tomorrow with profitability that is surely over 20 units at this point.
Lastly, the full suite of content on the SBC Summit North America from Gaming Today’s Marcus DiNitto and Chris Gerlacher is live. These are must-read articles for anyone interested in the larger machinations of the sports betting industry.
UFC 269 Parlay And Undercard Best Bet
I already broke down the entire UFC 269 main card on GamingToday.com. Check it out:
UFC 269 Parlay: Nunes/Pena Fight Starts Round 2 -168 + Cruz/Munhoz goes to decision -168 + Darrick Minner ML +172 = +592 (FANDUEL)
This is a 3 leg parlay by design. FanDuel is offering UFC parlay insurance up to $25 if exactly one leg loses (up to $25). Make sure to opt-in at the promos page.
UFC 269 Undercard Best Bet
Darrick Minner is a fine fighter, but my major issue is that Ryan Hall is a -210 favorite. Hall looked awful in July on the McGregor card. Short of a heel hook submission, Minner should control a majority of this fight. Minner is +800 to win this fight by KO/TKO. He only has one of these in his career but Hall has next to no durability left when taking strikes.
Picks: Minner ML +172 | Minner by KO/TKO +800
TNF Player Props – Cowboys vs. Saints
Zach Gentry Under 10.5 Receiving Yards -125 (PointsBet)
Backup tight end Zach Gentry usually plays less than 50% of the snaps on offense. Oftentimes, he does not get any targets in games. Below are his snap counts combined and targets.
Week 13: 50% snap count 2 targets 2 Rec. for 10 yards
Week 12: 35% snap count 2 targets 1 Rec. for 10 yards
Week 11: 22% snap count 0 targets
Week 10: 34% snap count 0 targets
Week 9: 51% snap count 0 targets
Betting under for sure here.
Diontae Johnson 80+ Receiving Yards and 1+ Touchdown +280 (PointsBet)
Diontae Johnson looks like he is unguardable right now. He has over 90 yards receiving in each of the last 3 games and had two touchdowns last weekend. The question here is if he gets another touchdown tonight. Minnesota has a terrible secondary so the odds are just too high here.
Chris Gerlacher and Marcus DiNitto Report From SBC Summit North America
Live from East Rutherford, New Jersey! Marcus DiNitto and Chris Gerlacher were all over last week’s SBC Summit North America. The weekend was a beautiful showing of startups who are pushing sports betting innovation.
Sports Betting Startups Popping Everywhere, Maybe Not For The Better
Below, Chris Gerlacher talked about how startups are targets for legal problems. For instance, as a new technology differentiates itself from existing technology, it affects states who all have different laws regarding sports betting.
Warning To Sportsbooks: Stay Out Of The Florida Situation
An ominous warning was given to sportsbooks by gaming attorney Daniel Wallach. Anyone who is aiding and abetting Florida sports betting could be risking future licenses in other states.
Well, this is a loaded situation. As of last week, Florida was still taking bets as they appealed a judge’s decision to stop sports betting in the Sunshine State. The appeal would be denied and Florida sports betting might have to wait until 2023.

Think You Have What It Takes To Be A Sports Betting Hall Of Famer?
This year, DraftKings Johnny Avello was inducted into the sports betting hall of fame. Other inductees include Joe Brennan, Yolanda Acuna, Joe Asher, and Jimmy Vaccaro.
Notably, these people were not elected for being incredible bettors but more for their role in making sports betting a prominent part of sports culture. This began in 2017 and figures to keep going for years to come.
