Gaming Today Playbook: TNF Props | 3 States On The Cusp | Sporttrade CEO Interview
Betting picks by sports bettors for sports bettors.
For readers who are following the weekly NFL player props on GamingToday.com, we are on a run. 4-1 last week, including a +500 hit, which puts us at 14-7 on the season and +12.94 units if you bet a single unit on every pick.
UFC 266 profited 2.74 units. The strategy of betting over every round prop for the Shevchenko fight actually showcased why I do it. We won 3 out of 5 bets on that fight. The big hit was Lawler ITD +280; BetMGM likely regretted putting that line up.
This week, we have more player props and more sports betting news. Connecticut retail sports betting officially launched this week at Foxwoods Resort and Casino. If you haven’t been there, you are missing out. One of the best casinos in the northeast has a $1.25 minimum hand blackjack, the lowest I have ever heard of.
Plus, we’ll give you a sneak peek at a few states on the cusp of an online sports betting launch: Connecticut, Louisiana, and Maryland.
Bengals vs. Jaguars Thursday Night Football Player Props
This game is extremely difficult to bet, so I only have two player props worth looking at.
Trevor Lawrence Over 15.5 Rushing Yards -115 (PointsBet)
Lawrence had 27 and 21 rushing yards in his first two games. He had -2 in week 3. 15.5 feels like an overcorrection. Surely, he is not going to average 20 a game but he should get over 15.
Joe Mixon Under 104.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards -113 (FanDuel)
Here are Joe Mixon’s numbers from his 3 games.
Week 1: 150 total yards
Week 2: 71 total yards
Week 3: 94 total yards
The Jaguars’ defense isn’t good but the number is too high here. 104.5 and he has barely been used on the receiving side? I’ll take the under.
States Launching Online Sports Betting
Connecticut
Connecticut launched retail sports betting this week, just in time for the Buccaneers vs. Patriots game. Online bettors will need to wait a bit, though. Online sports betting is slated to launch in CT on October 7
Louisiana
Unfortunately, the hurricane season severely delayed Louisiana sports betting. We are still waiting on an official sports betting launch date, but we are hopeful for a late October early November launch.
Keep up with Louisiana sports betting news at LAsharp.com
Maryland
Maryland sports betting is doing it right and moving along as expected. There will be an incredible abundance of sportsbooks to choose from. There is no set date for Maryland sports betting, so be sure to check Gaming Today and MarylandSharp for news about the launch.
