Gaming Today Playbook: NFL Week 3 | UFC 266 | Maryland & Florida Sports Betting
Betting picks by sports bettors for sports bettors.
NFL player prop bets have been extraordinarily hot to start the season. 10-4 -- would’ve been 11-3 if Tyrod Taylor wasn’t injured in the first half. We have two more solid player props for Thursday Night Football, plus you can expect my Week 3 props to drop on Friday at GamingToday.com
UFC 266 is this weekend. If you love betting on the UFC I will have some more reads on there for you. This week I’ll pick every UFC 266 fight in my analysis article. There are 3 five-round fights so keep that in mind.
There are some solid existing user promotions this week, mostly from PointsBet, which is giving a ton of risk-free bet opportunities. Lastly, we have Florida and Maryland’s sports betting updates: some good, some bad.
Panthers vs. Texans Thursday Night Football Player Props
Robby Anderson Over 43.5 Receiving Yards -110 (BetMGM)
Robby Anderson had 6 targets last week. While he did not hit 43 receiving yards last week, the Saints’ defense is far better than Houston’s. I think the target count of 6 last week is a good sign and he and Darnold should be able to take advantage of a bad Texans defense.
David Johnson Over 17.5 Rushing Yards -110 (FanDuel)
Snap counts for Texans running backs over the last two weeks.
Week 1 Week 2
David Johnson: 28% 43%
Mark Ingram: 46% 31%
Phillip Lindsay: 26% 23%
I think David Johnson is going to get most of the rushing work as Mark Ingram looks increasingly slower. Lindsay is by far the best pass catcher, but Davis Mills will be very overwhelmed in his first start on a short week.
UFC 266 Betting Picks And Best Bets
Uros Medic To Win In Round 1 +430 (FanDuel)
Medic is a good bet on his moneyline too at -122. He is Giga Chikadize’s main sparring partner. He is 7-0 in his career and could win this one easily. Jalin Turner has been knocked out too many times for me to trust him in this spot.
Jessica Andrade by Decision +185 (PointsBet)
Two well-rounded fighters face off in the women’s flyweight division. Andrade has lost 3 of her last 4, but those were against the title holders Weili Zhang, Rose Namajunas, and Valentina Shevchenko. Andrade should be more active and Calvillo basically only loses by decision. She has never been finished in her career. I don’t expect Andrade to be her first.

Sports Betting Updates In Maryland, Florida, And More
Sportsbooks began submitting applications to operate in Maryland earlier in September. Currently, only retail locations will launch this fall.
PointsBet wants a mobile launch in Maryland this fall. But will they get it? Rebecca Hanchett has more on this story.
Florida has much worse news. The state aimed for a sports betting launch by the start of the football season. Now it appears that a fall launch could be in jeopardy altogether. With legal battles being fought left and right, the whole situation is extremely murky.
