Gaming Today Playbook: Brent Musburger Interview | TNF Player Props | CFB Week 8 Picks
Betting picks by sports bettors for sports bettors.
We have a treat for you all today! This week Gaming Today’s Kris Johnson interviewed the voice of college football for ESPN, Brent Musburger. The conversation was really interesting about the state of gambling in football and sports today…
In terms of our weekly player prop picks, we hate batting 50% here on the Gaming Today Newsletter. We had some obvious wins like Justin Fields rushing yards and under Mac Jones passing yards last week, but there were some bad reads too. Models projected Mahomes at 37 passing attempts but he blew past it to the tune of 47 pass attempts.
Last Thursday, we were 1 for 2 on player props so there is some room for improvement here. The 5/10 week nearly doubled our loss total for the entire season putting our record to 29-19 and exactly 16 units of profit. It could be worse, but we are here to strive for excellence. Time to right the ship.

Case Keenum over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns +155 (DraftKings)
Just seeing this at +155 is disrespectful. Keenum is not that much of a downgrade from Baker Mayfield, and Cleveland’s offensive line is still excellent.. Their running backs are injured, so I am not expecting a full-blown run-first attack. +155 is a great value.
Teddy Bridgewater Over 20.5 Completions +105 (BetMGM)
So there is a bit of concern of an ankle injury here but the number is way too low. Teddy is averaging 23.16 completions per game. This includes the game where he had 7 completions against the Ravens and was pulled due to injury. Teddy over 20.5 is a great bet even with concerns of a potential ankle injury.

NFL Starts A New Responsible Gaming Campaign
ESPN’s David Perdum was all over this great story that the NFL is launching a new campaign to help bettors. Interestingly, the NFL is investing $6.2 million into this new venture with backing from DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars. Good on them for this, extremely important to see.
