$10 Million NFL Handicap Contest; NBA Promos; Big Moves In Florida
Betting picks by sports bettors for sports bettors
Wowza - Paul Casey finished the PGA Championship tied for 4th last weekend! Our Golf expert, Bill Bowman, had him slotted to win the tournament at 55:1. Thankfully, if you took advantage of the PointsBet promotion - that bet was refunded in free bets up to $25.
If you didn’t use PointsBet, you were on pins and needles on Sunday hoping for a Paul Casey run. At one point he had the 4th best odds to win the tournament. Very close to his first major win last weekend, but hopefully you got your bet refunded and enjoyed Phil’s odds-defying victory.
This week is a bit slower but we have a very interesting (and record-setting) handicapping contest from Circa Sportsbook that is worth $10 million total!
I don’t see many betting picks that are particularly intriguing this weekend--we don’t force the issue here. However, I do lean towards putting more money on the Denver Nuggets to win the series against the Trailblazers but we talked about that one last week. Lastly, get your popcorn ready for the Hawks vs. Knicks series; that one is going to be crazy!

This Week’s Sportsbook Promotions - Bet The NBA Playoffs With An Edge!
FanDuel Sportsbook is giving bettors a risk-free same-game parlay! Any same-game parlay during “eligible weeks” that is 3+ legs and +400 odds or longer gets refunded up to $10. This is pretty awesome and the first eligible week is this week and it ends tomorrow. Go to the promotion page before you bet to opt-in and make sure that it is an eligible week!
DraftKings Sportsbook is offering three profit boosts for 3+ leg parlays as well. Any NBA game between 5/17-5/31 is eligible. Each leg must be -500 or longer but this is solid. The difference between +200 and +250 is substantial for a parlay.
MGM Studios Bought By Amazon; DeSantis Signs Florida Sports Betting Compact; MA’s Big Mistake
As GamingToday’s Chris Gerlacher says: “No, Amazon didn’t just buy BetMGM” This is strictly a purchase of MGM’s movie studio and films for their Amazon Prime streaming platform.
In other words, MGM Studios and BetMGM/MGM Resorts are completely separate businesses and are not impacted by the Amazon deal.
Well, the Florida Sports Betting Compact has been signed, but this is not the end of this story. We now have 45 days starting last Tuesday and ending July 10th.
The major issue here is that betting and “gaming activity” is to only take place on “Indian land.” This obviously puts throws a wrench into Florida’s mobile sports betting plans
This will be played out in the courts. Big thanks to Mary M. Shaffrey for covering Florida’s progress
Meanwhile, Massachusetts has nixed sports betting from its budget talks, writes Rebecca Hanchett.
